About Learning Paths
Learning Paths is a systematic methodology for reducing time to proficiency. Reducing the time it takes to get employees up-to-speed has a direct and measurable impact on turnover, employee morale and profits. The Learning Path Metholodology is driven by three key learning principles. First, learning is a process and not an event. Learning goes well beyond what happens in the classroom. Second, knowing and doing are not the same thing. Third, training should be by design, not by accident.

The first step in developing a Learning Path is to define and measure proficiency. The second step is to map out the current Learning Path or how training is done today and then apply the principles of change management, accelerated learning and process improvement to drive down time, waste and variability.

Proficiency is a measure of performance. The start of every Learning Path initiative begins with defining proficiency and measuring current time to proficiency. This enables directing all learning activities to acheive the goal of becoming proficient in the least amount of time possible.
Mapping & Accelerating Learning Paths
A Learning Path is the series of learning activities that go from day one to proficiency. These activities include formal training, practice, experience and more. A Learning Path initiative maps out the current Learning Path and then applies the best of accelerated learning and change management.
